CapitaLand is one of the first companies in Singapore to voluntarily publish its Sustainability Reports according to the Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI) Guidelines in 2009. It is committed to cover its Group-wide property portfolio in more than 150 cities in over 20 countries.
The latest CapitaLand Limited Global Sustainability Report – An Integrated Report, has been prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards: Core option. CapitaLand also applied the Guiding Principles of the International Integrated Reporting (IIRC) Framework as well as ISO 26000:2010 Guidance on Social Responsibility to this report. It references the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, and covers CapitaLand’s global portfolio and employees, including its listed real estate investment trusts CapitaLand Mall Trust, CapitaLand Commercial Trust, Ascott Residence Trust, CapitaLand Retail China Trust and CapitaLand Malaysia Mall Trust. All underlying systems and processes that support the Group’s sustainability framework were reviewed. and the accuracy and reliability of its statements and figures validated. The assurance engagement was conducted in accordance with the International Standard on Assurance Engagements 3000 (ISAE 3000). The assurance includes the evaluation of the Group’s sustainability behaviour and performance, based on the AA1000 Assurance Standard.
The report includes the Group’s management approach in integrating sustainability into its policies, structure, management and operations. It shares the Group’s sustainability journey, provides insights into its strategies, as well as highlights the economic, environmental and social aspects of the Group’s developments and operations, in particular in Singapore and China.
